My philosophy and goal
It goes without saying that having a well-made, easy to use website is a great way to represent and promote your business. Your website tells people who you are, what services you offer, and other essential information about your business. It is not just the content you put on the website, it is the way the information is presented that sometimes makes people decide whether to do business with you, or to go to your competitor.
My goal is to help small businesses and individuals create great-looking professional websites that would boost their business, improve relationship with their customers, and, as an added bonus, make their competitors jealous.
Regardless of the size of the project, I treat all the work I do with equal amount of respect and care. I make each project unique and specific to a particular customer.
I'm new in this business, but I’m hoping that by keeping my rates reasonable, and my clients happy, I will succeed in building strong and reliable business, and make a small contribution to reducing the number of ugly website on the face of the Internet.
My background
I have a Bachelor's degree of Systems Engineer from Moscow Civil Engineering Institute and a Master of Science in Computer Science degree from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
I have worked as a Senior Software Engineer for several years developing back-end applications using C++ and Oracle Class Library for database access.
In March 2009 I have completed a full-time certificate program in Web and Graphic design offered by American International College, located in Framingham, MA. I absolutely loved this program, and by the end of the course I had a pretty substantial collection of graphic and web design work (see my Portfolio), created using Adobe Creative Suit software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash with Action Script 3).
In August 2010 I have finished an Enterprise Solution Developer course offered by American Career Institute that covered Microsoft .NET framework along with C#, Java, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, SQL Server, Oracle, XML, and Web Services. This technology makes it a breeze to build and integrate complex web applications requiring database support and other back-end programming.
I’m also familiar with JavaScript and jQuery library, as well as PHP server-side scripting language. Integrating JavaScript into the websites enhances visual presentation and interactivity, whereas PHP scripting enables forms processing, database connectivity, user login/authentication, multiple language support, and other server-side functionality.
Having a computer science background, and experience developing back-end applications, helps me tremendously with projects that require server-side functionality, and client-side scripting. Knowing how to handle both front-end presentation and back-end programming gives me an advantage over web designers who lack programming skills, and either have to hire subcontractor for this part of the job, or turn the potential customer down.
